Despite their strange appearance, the oblique pen is surprisingly simple to use, and can make writing italic lettering much more comfortable, and easier on the wrist.

A practical tool for italic writing, they help keep the nib at the right angle to the paper. (When using a dip pen the nib should be held at the angle of the downstrokes you are writing) I also find the oblique pen offers a comfortable writing position when writing in a vertical style too, I just adjust the angle of my wrist.

The metal flange is removable which makes fitting, removing and adjusting the height of nibs easy.

HOW TO USE:

Simply remove the metal flange, insert your nib of choice into the flange, and slide it back into the pen slot. As a rule, the point of the nib should be roughly in line with the pen shaft.

Suitable for use with the Blue Pumpkin, Brause Rose and Zebra G nibs, as well as many other modern calligraphy nibs.
