J. Herbin began making inks in Paris in 1670, and is one of the oldest names in Ink making, favoured by important figures in French history, from Louis XIV, to Napoleon Bonaparte to Victor Hugo.
The beautiful Violette Pensée shade was the standard ink for students throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries.
Herbin inks are favoured for fountain pen connoisseurs due to their neutral PH level.
